Sustainability targets

Our focus is on measuring the degree to which we have implemented and achieved our existing environmental, economic, and social objectives. A number of other specific targets were also adopted. The following summary provides a description of selected targets for the coming reporting period, the emphasis being on the aspect of sustainability under consideration.

Occupational health and safety

Assess workplace-related threat to employees from psychological stress by means of staff survey and introduce measures to avoid associated risks.



Use coaching for burnout prevention as part of management training.

Implement qualification and training initiatives as well as staff development programs.

Sustainable products

Replace 20% of the plastics used in our products with recycled polymers by 2019.



Calculate carbon footprint of our products on a regular basis as part of an environmental impact assessment and take results into account in early stages of product development.


Dialogue with stakeholders

Further extend and intensify our ongoing, personal, and topic-specific dialogue with stakeholders in respect of sustainability issues.


Strategy and management

Combine Diebold and Nixdorf sustainability organizations, in addition to preparing and publishing a uniform sustainability report in accordance with GRI G4.


Environmental management at company sites

Conduct regular energy audits at European sites and draw up measures to optimize energy efficiency.



Implement ongoing energy conservation measures relating to company facilities operated around the globe.


Responsibility within the supply chain

Intensify all-embracing supplier assessment, while taking into account aspects relating to sustainability.
