As Product Manager of ATM’s at Wincor Nixdorf, Thiel was determined from the very beginning to ensure that the many detailed requirements of hardware and software developments involved in the ATM project with Desjardins and IBM Canada were fully satisfied. One area of focus was the integration of security solutions, proventing bank card data to be skimmed at ATMs. “The requirements and our correspondence fill files,“ says Thiel. “But it‘s definitely worthwhile to satisfy our customers. Initially, Desjardins ordered 600 ATMs, but the bank ordered an additional 800 in spring.“
