To a very large extent, it is our employees who help to meet and even exceed the expectations of our customers and equity holders. We are therefore keen to invest in specific measures to provide support, further training and professional qualifications to our workforce. During the year under review, we continuously expanded the training opportunities available to our employees. We organize numerous workshops, courses and training modules in a wide range of subjects at the Company’s different sites. In addition to these more conventional forms of training, our employees can take part in live seminars and online courses using the Group-wide e-training platform, which also helps to promote internal communication by allowing colleagues from different countries to meet in virtual groups, hold joint conferences and training courses, and exchange knowledge and information.
During the year under review, we also expanded our Project Management Center of Excellence, whose aim is to ensure that complex projects are handled in a professional manner. Here, employees are trained using a standardized and accredited program and appropriate standards, and are thus equipped to handle projects even more rapidly and efficiently. This program has already proven its worth in Germany. In recent months, we have increased the number of international training courses and launched several initiatives in collaboration with our regional subsidiaries. The priority is to establish a cross-border project management community.
To prepare our employees as well as possible for their individual tasks, Wincor Nixdorf also encourages them to share their knowledge and experience across borders. As a means of improving both processes and quality, we have established a worldwide production quality network that aims to introduce standard procedures and instruments across the Group and to implement best practice at all our sites.
