Communication generates trust, heightens transparency and acts as a vehicle for the transfer of knowledge among the workforce and the wider public. For this reason, we believe it is vital to communicate openly, both within and outside the organization. In fiscal 2008/2009, we again maintained this close dialog with the public.
Using a wide range of information channels, we publish information in online and offline media, supply press releases to journalists worldwide and ensure that we are actively represented at trade fairs and seminars. We make ongoing improvements to our website as a means of enhancing communications between the entire Group and the whole spectrum of interested parties. Among the chief targets of our external communications are the capital markets, with which we maintain regular contact (see also the section entitled Stock).
Communications with our customers are primarily maintained through our global sales organization and at special business events, which aim to promote an ongoing exchange of information and experiences. These include numerous events initiated by Wincor Nixdorf itself, such as the international “Wincor World” trade fair, our “International Management Seminar,” the worldwide “Retail Banking Conference,” which is run in collaboration with the internationally renowned German financial journal Börsen-Zeitung, and other specialist banking conferences. These and other events have become an established part of our customer communication activities.
