Development of Standard Components and Modules

Our software and systems are in use in around a hundred countries. In order to adapt them to local requirements and conditions, we have set up an international development network. One key factor in achieving success in the ongoing development, or local adaptation, of technologies within such a network is the development of standard components and software modules. The software we develop for banks and retailers is based on the concept of service-oriented architecture (SOA) (Glossary, in addition to base technologies such as Microsoft’s “.net” and JEE. SOA methods emphasize structuring and standardization. Software developed according to this principle, for instance, can be easily customized by staff at the Group’s different sites in regional Solution Competence Centers.

The main focus of our research and development work lies on:

  • providing software to optimize sales and service processes in the branch operations of retail banks and retailers;
  • developing convergent, i.e., uniform, base technologies that can be used for applications in both industries;
  • improving the serviceability (Glossary of our solutions.
