Saarbrücken Savings Bank: Increasing Liquidity, Lowering Costs. Saarbrücken Savings Bank (Sparkasse Saarbrücken) has increased its liquidity and lowered costs for replenishing self-service terminals with Wincor Nixdorf’s cash management (Glossary solution, which is designed to make cash handling more efficient. The bank has initially implemented the solution in 86 ATMs, of which 52 are cash-recycling systems (Glossary. Saarbrücken Savings Bank is one of the largest regional banks in southwestern Germany, with assets of more than €6 billion and more than 1,300 employees.

Bringing Dead Capital to Life. The cash management solution has led to a 30% decrease in the volume of banknotes required for replenishing ATMs, representing a €5 million reduction in cash inventory. “The introduction of a software-supported cash management solution for all branches was a logical step in bringing dead capital to life,” says Armin Gerstner, Project Manager at Saarbrücken Savings Bank. The bank plans to expand the project to include 82 conventional teller terminals in the optimization process. Savings similar to those achieved with the ATMs are expected.
