For retail companies, Wincor Nixdorf’s Cash Cycle Management™ Solutions offer a decisive starting point for simplifying cash handling. The integration of the CINEO technology platform means that cash takings can be validated im­mediately and stored in audit-proof, closed systems. These devices thus enable rapid, efficient consolidation of cash takings without labor-intensive processes such as counting cash by the double-checking principle. In addition, the cash that is deposited in the system can be made available within the store, so that, for example, cashiers can be supplied with change directly from the store’s own takings.

Troublefree cash removal.

Pick-ups of cash takings at the end of the day are also simplified considerably by CINEO’s technology. The cassettes holding the audit-proof cash are collected by the CiT company for transport to the cash center or bank.

In the checkout zone, too, the integration of CINEO technology in both traditional and self-service checkouts can optimize cash processes further. Cash acceptance and change dispensing are completely automated by the CINEO technology platform, so that cash deposited at the POS can be dispensed there again as change if needed. In addition to this recycling approach, the advantages of the system include cash authentication, inventory control, transparency, and speed.

Even greater savings potential can be realized when the processes at checkout and in the cash office are networked through a closed cash cycle between the cash points in the checkout zone and the downstream CINEO systems in the retailer’s cash office. The CINEO systems for the checkout zone offer the option of transferring cash takings to a mobile, audit-proof drum module. The drum module is carried to the cash office and “docked” onto the CINEO system there, where its contents are automatically emptied into the CINEO system’s cassettes. Cashiers no longer have contact with cash. The automation results not only in the greatest transparency with regard to cash holdings, but also in significant cost savings along the entire process chain and a closed cash cycle within the store.
