Wincor Nixdorf Provides Industry-Leading Retail Hardware to EZ Lube
Southern California’s Largest Growing Fast Lube Company to Deploy Wincor Nixdorf BEETLE® / i-POS Terminal. Wincor Nixdorf Technology Shines Through ‘Oil Spill’ Test
AUSTIN, Texas, January 14, 2008 – Wincor Nixdorf, one of the world’s leading suppliers of total IT solutions for the retail and banking industries, today announced the rollout of the company’s BEETLE® / iPOS point-of-sale retail terminals into rapidly growing quick lube company, EZ Lube.
Under the current agreement, nearly 500 Wincor Nixdorf iPOS terminals will be installed throughout EZ Lube’s existing 83 Southern California locations, with the technology slated for installation in the company’s future locations as it continues to expand in the region.
EZ Lube chose Wincor Nixdorf’s iPOS technology based on the unique needs presented by the exposed, open-bay layout of its multiple locations. The retail hardened iPOS technology was an ideal fit in this environment where the retail terminal is regularly exposed to weather, dirt, grease and other work related contaminants. Reinforcing this point, during the testing period EZ Lube employees poured oil directly onto both the iPOS and the competitor’s offering to judge overall durability of the terminal, after which Wincor Nixdorf’s technology continued to function flawlessly and outshine the competition.
