We feel an obligation to protect the environment. We use resources sparingly and deploy technology actively for environmental protection purposes. Economic use of existing resources is also a key factor right back at the product development stage. Our sound ecological approach is based on the use of an environmental management system which has been certified to the DIN EN ISO 14001 standard by the German Management System Certification Society.

In recent years, Wincor Nixdorf has gone to the top of its fields in exemplary fashion – a success the company owes to its clear strategy of not just concentrating on superb products, but of always supplying customers with total solutions to their needs.

It’s precisely this attitude that can be seen in our approach to the environment, where we look at more than just environmentally friendly products and production techniques. In all our thinking, indeed, the focus of our attention is the customer: customers should not just take delivery of products that are safe, reliable and have long life-spans, but also have to get the benefit of sound environmental qualities. The days in which environmental protection was a bolt-on option in terms of disposing of production waste in as environmentally friendly a manner as possible are long gone. At Wincor Nixdorf, “integrated” environmental protection is built into all our processes, ensuring that our products’ entire life-cycles are examined from environmental points of view. Again, this means that protecting the environment starts well before production does. In the same way, at Wincor Nixdorf environmental protection is not just a final destination, but rather an ongoing process of improvement aimed at preserving our natural environmental habitat. With this in mind, it almost goes without saying that the company makes economic use of natural resources and that it reduces emissions and waste, because this approach has also become vital from an economic viewpoint.
