Cash deposits

Off-premise banknote and coin deposits

In various sectors (e.g. mass transit, transport logistics, furniture trade, social organizations and power utilities), cash takings are collected at a central point, counted and kept safely. This process involves numerous steps. A forwarding company, for example, “collects” considerable amounts of cash in the course of a day. These are posted in a central cash office and then stored in the back office.

The move to making deposits on self-service systems not only simplifies the entire billing process (cash only passes into the system once) but also extends the timeframe for deposits to 24 hours per day. It also avoids discrepancies as a result of counting errors, manipulation or “critical” banknote deposits. Employee safety also increases, since the cash passes straight to the safe so that, if a raid does occur, it cannot be paid out via one transaction.

Integration into existing landscapes is based on a “semaphore concept”. This keeps the work involved in controlling self-service systems and transmitting transaction data to the back-office system to a minimum.
