Solution
SAF SuperWarehouse was developed by SAF in Tägerwilen, Switzerland, in conjunction with Prof. Gerhard Arminger from Bergisch University in Wuppertal. It operates in two key process steps: the forecast process and the planning process.
The forecasting of future stock issues and the associated optimum inventory levels is characterized by the use of complex statistical methods. These self-learning models react to the dynamics of the market, and map them in the forecast results.
The planning process identifies order quantities, taking various optimization aspects such as warehousing costs and discount scales into account.
SAF SuperWarehouse operates fully automatically. An integrated warning system indicates various situations that the system identifies as implausible.
