It is not only where customers pay for their goods, it also generates crucial data, e.g., to control the logistics chain from the point of sale to reordering.

Underlying our conventional checkout solutions is both our Retail Suite (TP Application Suite) and our versatile hardware platform, BEETLE, which we continuously optimize with regard to factors such as total cost of ownership (TCO) and carbon footprint.

Almost all retailers strive to optimize the checkout areas of their stores, the key challenges being to create a positive shopping experience and reduce waiting lines, while also streamlining costs. This is where Wincor Nixdorf’s automated solutions can make a significant contribution. They allow customers to scan and pay for their goods at self-checkout terminals or alternatively, to use a mobile scanner to scan the products themselves and then pay at a self-service payment point. Because each of the modules can be configured in different ways, we are able to offer end-to-end solutions that can be tailored to customer requirements as a self-checkout solution or a self-service payment point. Our solutions for retailers also extend beyond the checkout area to encompass other self-service and automation solutions, including reverse vending and special kiosk solutions that can offer price reductions via customer cards and accept orders. Retailers looking for ways to implement price changes quickly and automatically will also benefit from our electronic shelf label (ESL) solutions.

IT Services for Retailers.
As in the case of our IT services for banks, our internationally standardized IT services for retailers ensure best-in-class availability and cost-efficient operation of systems. They are particularly attractive to retailers on global growth trajectories, as the outline agreements are valid worldwide and the services identical whatever the location. Retailers therefore no longer need to negotiate special provisions for specific countries and can gradually deploy services in the countries of their choice.

On-site Services. Most of these services focus on deploying IT systems as part of rollouts and include system-based services that are performed on site. In addition, Wincor Nixdorf supports retailers with the planning, design, and implementation activities involved in modernizing their branches.

The result is a fully integrated process from receipt at the checkout to transfer to the cash-in-transit (CiT) company. This eliminates the need to manually prepare the cash boxes in the cash office and count the day’s takings by hand – all these processes are fully automated.

Cashless Transactions. To facilitate the processing of cashless transactions, we integrate the appropriate payment solutions in checkouts and self-checkout systems. These solutions process transactions using traditional credit and debit cards as well as utilizing mobile payment procedures.
