1. Hardware for Self-service and Automation.
Wincor Nixdorf recognizes that banks are constantly seeking ways to relieve branch staff from routine activities so they can devote more time to helping customers. Accordingly, we provide systems that migrate cash processes such as cash disbursement and cash deposits to self-service. As well as ATMs, our portfolio includes automated teller safes and cash recycling systems, which subject cash to a counterfeit check before once again making it available for disbursement. Modules for coin processing complete our portfolio for cash processes. Additionally, we supply transaction terminals and statement printers.
Our systems can be expanded using various hardware and software enhancements, so that a range of further, cashless processes can also be migrated to self-service. Examples include modules for automated check processing, ticket sales, loading of pre-paid cell phone cards, and passbook processing. Indeed, the modular design of our hardware portfolio is one of its key features, which also allows it to be tailored to regional requirements.
2. Software and Professional Services.
Driving our banking software are the twin goals of ensuring efficient processing and high availability of transactions and processes in financial institutions, and helping retail banks expand their sales activities through their branches.
With our Retail Banking Suite (ProClassic/Enterprise), banks can bundle processes from different channels, thus paving the way to standardized processes and a unified and optimized IT infrastructure. The suite includes a wide range of applications that support self-service and employee-operated branch activities, system monitoring, security, and cashless transactions. Since the software is based on a service-oriented architecture, applications can be implemented rapidly.
With our Professional Services portfolio, we offer customers both consulting services and customized project solutions for process automation. The portfolio ranges from business consulting to process and IT consulting. We can implement hardware or software for our customers as a turnkey package, ensure the necessary operational readiness, and support smooth and seamless operation.
A broad spectrum of practices is incorporated in this portfolio. The Self-service Integration practice covers certification of self-service solutions and multi-vendor integration. The Branch & Channel Solutions practice includes integrated solutions for branches and other banking sales channels, while Cashless Payment focuses on solutions for cashless payments and transaction processing.
3. IT Services for Retail Banks.
As a provider of IT systems, we also offer services across their entire life cycle, thereby ensuring maximum availability and security. Because our services are standardized across the globe, banks receive exactly the same services whatever their location. For customers, this not only translates into a consistent quality of services, but also maximum cost transparency within their IT budgets.
On-site Services. One focus area of our on-site services is the deployment of IT systems as part of rollouts – including the relevant on-site installations. They also encompass system-based services that ensure high availability by rectifying faults quickly on site and providing regular system maintenance. In addition, Wincor Nixdorf supports retail banks with the planning, design, and implementation activities involved in modernizing their branches and self-service areas.
Managed Services. Our services for operating installed IT systems have a single goal: to ensure maximum availability in the most cost-efficient way – in terms of both technology and user support. Our banking customers can choose whether to let us manage the self-service systems alone or the entire IT in their branches. In these scenarios, we remotely monitor and control self-service and IT systems online. The technological basis for this is the eServices Platform, which supports automated remote monitoring, including online error reporting and rapid handling of disruptions. In addition, we offer customers end-to-end software management, which covers implementation, regular updates, rights management, remote monitoring, and consolidated reporting. Additionally, a helpdesk assists branch employees with questions relating to the installed hardware and software.
Services for Cash Management and Payment Transactions. Banks can take advantage of another service: cash management. This includes activities such as cash stock forecasting for the optimization of cash levels, and managing the filling and emptying of cash systems by cash-intransit (CiT) companies. We also provide a service that supports the processing of electronic payment transactions for retail banks.
Outsourcing. With our end-to-end Outsourcing Services, we can manage the entire IT infrastructures of our banking customers – whether they involve data centers, servers,or workstations. In addition, Wincor Nixdorf can also manage IT applications, business processes, and self-service systems for its customers.
4. Integrated Solutions.
Cash Management. Our modular cash management portfolio – Cash Cycle Management Solutions – enables banks to automate virtually all of their cash processes. Our streamlining solutions encompass consulting (e.g., for process analysis), hardware, software, and services.
Underpinning the portfolio are the systems of our CINEO product family. The standardized banknote storage devices featured in it can be exchanged between ATMs, cash recycling systems, and automated teller safes. Used together, they enable a closed cash cycle. This gives customers in the final phase of implementation maximum security, the greatest possible degree of transparency, streamlined and efficient processes, and a reduction in costs of over 20%.
Cashless Transactions. As well as automation solutions for cash transactions, we offer our customers products for processing cashless transactions. Our end-to-end software handles processes such as transaction recording, identification, and authorization – and then forwards the data to the target systems. This is complemented by a range of specialized services, from installing devices for electronic transactions to the operation of data communication systems.
Solutions for Branches. We help retail banks to intensify sales in their branches while, at the same time, enhancing service quality, efficiency, and profitability. Our strength lies in our ability to consider retail banking processes across every sales channel and leverage this information to create fresh concepts for branches and self service. Our service portfolio for overhauling branches begins with the analysis of branch processes, which is channeled into developing IT concepts that we implement in cooperation with partners.
Security for Banks. We offer solutions to counter a large number of potential attack scenarios that range well beyond ATM crime, such as skimming and cash trapping. They cover data, software, and cash security, identity and access controls, and the monitoring of branch security. This portfolio of security solutions is updated constantly to include new consulting and support services. We also offer our customers an option to link their branches for monitoring purposes to our own security center.
