Sweden’s independent ATM operator Kontanten awards service contract to Wincor Nixdorf
Wincor Nixdorf is assuming responsibility for providing service to a total of 240 automated teller machines for Kontanten, an independent ATM operator in Sweden. It is doing so under the terms of a 3-year agreement that Kontanten and Wincor Nixdorf have just signed. The services covered by the agreement range from classic ATM maintenance to remote real-time monitoring of all machines, thus guaranteeing the customer improved system availability.
Kontanten is the leading independent ATM operator in the Nordic marketplace, with installations in all big Swedish cities. The company is fully independent of other financial institutions and supplies its customers – in the main supermarkets, shopping malls and service stations in the Nordic regions – with automated teller machines.
Details of the agreement include system installation, upgrades and conversions and all services involved in maintenance and repairs. In addition, an end-user help desk will be available. All ATMs are linked remotely to Wincor Nixdorf’s system management center, which performs 24/7 real-time monitoring including prompt trouble ticketing and remote maintenance. Wincor Nixdorf will also be handling software implementation and distribution of software updates.
Monitoring and administration are handled by the eServices Platform, which is geared to the special needs of all self-service systems. Its function array includes remote diagnostics and status reports for all connected systems. The detailed status information collected with eServices Platform enables precise fault diagnostics, making it possible to avoid downtimes completely or to get failed systems up and running again without delay. The wealth of information that eServices Platform processes is used to maintain maximum device availability and optimize network performance.
Kontantens ATM systems are connected through an ADSL based network in Sweden and a GPRS based network in Finland. The services provided over the network are monitoring, administration, transactions, alarm to the security company and third-party advertising functions.
