TP Application Suite, Wincor Nixdorf’s software portfolio for international retailers, has therefore been expanded to include new functions – with a special focus on the issues of customer loyalty, mobility and security. Customer loyalty. Wincor Nixdorf’s TPLoyalty gives its retail customers a simple, yet effective tool for building and maintaining customer relationships. TPLoyalty uses existing components of the TP Application Suite, such as TPAnalyze, TPAdmin and the Promotion Engine and supplements them to create a flexible customer loyalty solution. The foundation for a pinpointed campaign is precise customer segmenting, for example by awarding bonus points or through discounts for specific customers or customer groups. Analyses for immediate assessment of the success of these measures can be provided online throughout the enterprise, so that fast, reliable decisions can be made. Mobility. Under its TP Mobile Applications, Wincor Nixdorf bundles mobile solutions for a wide range of different application areas. These ‘mobile assistants’ deliver the best-possible customer service, make day-to-day work easier and supply data for controlling business – in short, they offer new options and new experiences for customers, store staff and management. There are several mobile versions of the TP Application Suite to improve customer service. TPiShop, the mobile self-scanning solution for end customers has already been installed by many retailers and is now complemented by a new component for a targeted address of individual customers. The Mobile Sales Assistant ensures that sales staff are able to provide answers to customer inquiries at all times. It also enables mobile preregistration of their shopping baskets (queue busting) and thus helps eliminate a key problem at the checkout – waiting lines. Mobile solutions give store staff greater freedom in their everyday work, enhance their ability to respond to information needs, and thus save time and money. The Mobile Supervisor, for example, provides store management with numerous control and administration functions. Mobile Inventory is a component that enables mobile capture of inventory data anywhere and without connection to a network. For outdoor sales, the TPApplication Suite now also offers extensive checkout functions on wireless mobile terminals. Mobile Analyze delivers relevant, up-to-date and handy information. This mobile extension to the business intelligence component TPAnalyze can be used anywhere, and makes information required for decision-making available directly on PDAs or smartphones. System and process security. TPSecure, a new solution component in the TP Application Suite, guarantees all-around protection for store systems against IT attacks such as hacking, Trojans and worms. A conventional firewall operates on the basis of the blacklist principle and uses a list of network addresses to prevent data from unauthorized sources from entering the computer of the store system. However, these addresses must first be known. TPSecure goes one crucial step further: The solution uses the whitelist principle and defined behavior patterns to detect any anomalies in program flows. A predefined security policy stipulates precisely who or what is allowed to access which areas and how. In this way, TPSecure not only identifies potential risks, but also actively protects against them.
