Wincor World 2012:
Successful premiere at new trade fair site
More than 7,000 visitors from 90 countries took advantage of the opportunity to visit Wincor World 2012, where over 500 exhibits and more than 70 expert presentations covered the latest IT solutions and services from Wincor Nixdorf and 46 renowned partner exhibitors. This industry highlight for IT experts and managers from banks and retail companies took place for three days at the event’s new location: the modern A2 Forum in Rheda-Wiedenbrück.
One focal point of the exhibition was the optimization of cash processes. The company demonstrated how processes for cash handling in banks and retail stores in particular can be designed for both customer-friendliness and efficiency. The topic of security was greeted with equally great interest by visitors, as anticipated. The exhibits and presentations made it clear once again that criminal attacks on cash systems and processes are becoming ever more inventive, and it is critical to stay a decisive step ahead of this criminality through the intelligent networking of information from a variety of sources. Another solution area greatly in demand was the modular portfolio of solutions for automated checkout zones, which offers a suitable solution for every retail company.
Wincor Nixdorf presented its “seamless retailing” concept, in which a single software platform and end-to-end service cover all of a retailer’s sales channels. For the first time, visitors could also discover the newly structured portfolio of the company’s Services Division, which offers IT solutions for every phase of a system’s lifecycle, ranging from installation and commissioning, to ensuring availability, all the way to solutions for system operation, including the takeover of responsibility for complete IT operations.
