Cash Management Software reduces cash stocks and optimises replenishment costs Wincor Nixdorf GmbH & Co. KG and SARROS GmbH have today published details of a strategic collaboration regarding software-based optimisation of cash management processes. Under the collaboration, the Cash Management product developed by SARROS GmbH will be included in Wincor Nixdorfs product portfolio. Use of this software will enable banks and building societies to organise their cash management process more effectively and more rationally. The key benefits leading to cost reductions are a reduction of cash stocks and optimisation of replenishment frequency. The SARROS software is already being used successfully and has enabled stock cost reductions of over 30 per cent per annum in networks of up to 800 automated teller machines. Ongoing development of the solution will be managed jointly by both Wincor Nixdorf and SARROS. The optimisation features already present are to be joined by further key functions in future. The aim is to optimise the entire cash cycle within a bank, including optimisation of safe and teller point stocks as well as the contents of cash deposit machines. Providing the systems with the ideal amount of cash stock on peak days such as the Christmas period, or during town festivals, will increase machine up-time as well as minimising costs. Even now, work is being undertaken to link in Wincor Nixdorfs cash recycling systems ProCash (CRS) in order to cater for the growing importance of such machines. Once the required functions are developed, Wincor Nixdorf will be the worlds only supplier of cash recycling systems for which a fine-tuned replenishment service is available. SARROS and Wincor Nixdorf are also making efforts to integrate the Self Service Terminal (SST) Manager for Tivoli and ProView, via interfaces, in such a way as to be able to use the data needed to optimise the cash logistics. This enhancement will help create an integrated cash management program which will use uniform interfaces and enable automatic follow-on processing (i.e. contract forwarding to high-security courier companies).
