Modular software portfolio maps retail banking processes Wincor Nixdorf has further developed its software portfolio for banks, oriented it systematically to customer processes and pooled it under one roof. Wincor Nixdorf is presenting its ProClassic/Enterprise Retail Banking Solution Suite, a network-centric, modular software portfolio that comprehensively maps a bank’s customer, business and transaction handling processes as well as incorporating IT aspects such as the infrastructure, security, optimization and management. “The suite’s individual modules allow us to implement branch and self-service processes reliably and efficiently, increase revenue, sales and service for customers, and control systems and workflows with the best TCO,” says Stefan Auerbach, the Wincor Nixdorf AG board member responsible for global banking business. A key principle in the development of all the modules in the ProClassic/Enterprise Retail Banking Solution Suite is process orientation, which is realized through the implementation of a service-oriented architecture (SOA). As a result, functions can be reused across all channels and combined with each other, and new end-to-end processes can be created. Reusability of components reduces capital expenses and the time needed to achieve a return on investment. The ProClassic/Enterprise Retail Banking Solution Suite comprises four independent, freely combinable software modules, and is particularly oriented to the requirements and processes of the self-service and branch delivery channels. The modules Channel Delivery, Security, Management & Optimization and Banking Business Enabling provide software components that allow banks to develop tailor-made solutions to meet the requirements of the processes that need mapping. Self-service machines from different vendors and branch peripherals are controlled with the Channel Delivery module. It is also responsible for ensuring uniform integration with external back-end systems, communication between the channels for global functions and processes, and management of the infrastructure and hardware, including user administration. The Security module consists of applications that protect the terminals and the operating system, communication and network levels against manipulation and attacks. As a result, threats to the bank’s infrastructure – even from combined attacks – are repelled. Automated processes within the security applications simplify what is often the complicated task of integration in enterprise-wide security policies, and thus offer the bank and customers the assurance of a high level of security. The Management & Optimization module is used to monitor and manage the equipment in the self-service network and branch – the foundation for proactive maintenance and high availability of services. It also provides cash management functions to determine the optimum ratio of cash in the cycle and the associated costs, as well as for controlling processes such as those related to cash-in-transit operators. The Banking Business Enabling module supports the bank’s prime business, with a focus on service and sales support functionalities. It comprises cash handling and non-cash services for customers and their accounts, such as cash dispensing and remittances. These and other functions can be used as desired in the branch, in the self-service zone, on other channels or in combination. The module also provides software components for direct marketing, integration in CRM concepts and advertising across all channels. In addition, non-bank information and services and other value-added services can be integrated. With this module, Wincor Nixdorf combines the efficient handling of front-office services with the opportunity to address customers and tap new revenue streams with value-added services.
