EMKE Group deploys TP.net internationally in a variety of retail formats
Key success in the Middle East
Abu Dhabi-based EMKE Group has opted to deploy TP.net, Wincor Nixdorf's store software for the retail industry. The leading retail company in the United Arab Emirates and number five in the Middle East will install TP.net on 3,000 POS systems, and has signed a corresponding master agreement with an option for a further 1,000 licenses. The system pilot has been running in an Abu Dhabi supermarket since January. During the evaluation process, EMKE Group placed great emphasis on the system's ease of adaptation to a wide variety of retail formats and its ability to be used worldwide. Another key aspect was TP-net's deep integration in SAP. Rollout will start in March 2010 and is set to conclude before the end of 2012.
In addition to the TP.net store solution, EMKE Group will also be utilizing TPAdmin, the administration component for controlling the entire store landscape and for the centralized creation and distribution of promotions and campaigns. What is more, EMKE Group will also deploy the TPAnalyze module, the business intelligence component, and TPLoyalty, a software package for managing customer loyalty measures.
The EMKE Group, whose activities are centered in the countries of the Arabian Peninsula, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Kenya, Tanzania and Benin, operates a number of different retail formats, ranging from supermarkets and hypermarkets to department stores and complete shopping malls.
EMKE has a highly competent IT team of its own that will handle the customizing of TP.net going forward. As part of its Professional Services package, Wincor Nixdorf will train the EMKE staff on site.
"TP.net will help us maintain a lead over our international competitors – particularly thanks to the flexibility and responsiveness we stand to gain from the centralized management and control of both our campaigns and branches. Its standard integration with SAP makes TP.net an exact fit for our ERP strategy," explains Madhav Rao, CIO of EMKE Group.
For Wincor Nixdorf, the deal with EMKE Group is a milestone on its path towards opening up the Middle East region. "This market used to be the domain of our competitors; now, with EMKE Group, we have won over one of the highest-profile retail companies in the Middle East," says Fred Gadalla, Channel Manager (MEA) at Wincor Nixdorf.
