Emergency help for financial institutions following criminal damage on self-service systems For the first time, Wincor Nixdorf will be introducing to Wincor World its "Rapid Rescue" concept, aimed at getting ATMs quickly back into service following serious criminal damage. The emergency help concept will also be applied in cases where the ATM is so severely damaged that it cannot be repaired in situ by a service technician. In such cases, the Wincor Nixdorf Repair Center will then provide an operationally identical replacement system at short notice. The availability of the machine is therefore considerably quicker than it would be with a conventional delivery ex-works, during which time the bank affected can make a final decision on whether the damaged system is to be repaired, replaced or given a general overhaul. As part of the general overhaul, all the ATM's components are fully tested, cleaned and re-configured, if necessary. After that the system is returned to the customer in the same as-new condition. If need be, Wincor Nixdorf will buy the defective system off the customer or dispose of it properly. By linking the Repair Center with the Production department, components which do count as replacement parts, for example safes and chassis, can also be ordered. Thanks to its own dedicated international network of central and regional warehouses and a comprehensive network of authorised providers of repair services, Wincor Nixdorf is able to provide its emergency help across the globe. Within its global logistics network of over 90 countries worldwide, Wincor Nixdorf carries out a total of around 125,000 repairs each year and exchanges and supplies approx. 1.5 million replacement parts and consumables.
