Prosystems IT wins 30th new customer in 15 months from Sparkasse sector

Within the last 15 months, Prosystems IT, a subsidiary of Wincor Nixdorf, has won 30 new customers from the German savings bank (Sparkasse) sector. The most recent acquisition, in March 2011, involves the operation and service of the data backup servers at Kreissparkasse Euskirchen for an initial term of 12 months. Since 2004, Prosystems IT has been operating and servicing the decentral infrastructure and applications of the Sparkassen in the Rhineland and providing a variety of services for these banks.

The contract with Kreissparkasse Euskirchen covers the monitoring of the bank’s regular remote data backups, relieving the bank of responsibility for personnel-intensive routine tasks. Monthly reporting provides information on server availability. “Prosystems IT’s proactive monitoring has resulted in a significant increase in the availability of the data backup infrastructure,” says Stefan Böhm, who heads up the organization department at Kreissparkasse Euskirchen.

Prosystems IT offers a variety of service packages in its outsourcing operations from which customers can select individual services. They comprise, among other things, the operation – that is, monitoring and administration – of self-service systems, applications, telecommunication systems and networks. All systems are monitored around the clock via monitoring services at Prosystems IT, where problem reports are made and remote maintenance is initiated. With this monitoring system, Prosystems IT remains within the secure savings bank network and complies with all the requirements and regulations of German savings banks.

Other outsourcing services include the operation of end user helpdesks for the savings banks. This means that both IT-related and bank-specific inquiries on applications can be accepted, processed, and forwarded as necessary to special departments at the savings banks, ensuring transparency as regards problems and inquiries and increasing accessibility in the event of problems. Maintenance quotas, system availability and processing times can all be significantly improved.
“The decisive factor in our success at Germany’s savings banks is our very high level of specialized know-how and the many years of experience we’ve gathered in this sector,” explains Stephan Winters, Managing Director of Prosystems IT.
