Two banks become one with Wincor Nixdorf as service provider

Sweden’s Finn Savings Bank and Gripen Savings Bank plan to merge to form a new bank serving the Öresundsregionen in the Southern region of the country. The banks have selected Wincor Nixdorf to provide service for their ATMs.

The new bank will target customers in Southern Sweden as well as Eastern Denmark after the merger is finalized in the third quarter. It will have 33 offices, with its head office in Malmö.

Through their merger, the two savings banks aim to provide a more competitive range of banking products and services. "It is an exciting venture," says Magnus Gustafson, Product Manager at Savings Bank Finn. "Our new market consists of 3.7 million people in 80 communities and 440,000 businesses."

Wincor Nixdorf, which already provides ATMs to both banks, has been awarded a service contract as well. The new agreement gives Wincor Nixdorf total responsibility for the banks’ current fleet of ATMs, consisting of 44 terminals. The services include monitoring via Wincor Nixdorf’s eServices Platform, helpdesk and on-site support services and cassette management.

"Through this new agreement, we expect a higher availability of the machines," Gustafson said, pointing to the good cooperation the two banks have had with Wincor Nixdorf ever since they parted from Swedbank 11 years ago.

"We are proud to be the bank's new service provider", says Håcan Tiwemark, Service Manager at Wincor Nixdorf Sweden and continues, "This shows that we have chosen the right path for our services offering to customers".
"Wincor Nixdorf’s full service offering was the advantage that lead to this deal“, agrees Gustafson.
