Wincor Nixdorf expands Australian footprint via Banktech’s ‘CashConnect’ ATM Network
Wincor Nixdorf has secured a deal to provide Automated Teller Machines (ATM) to Banktech, a leading independent ATM provider. Sydney-based Banktech has agreed to purchase and deploy 100 ProCash 1500xe as part of its ‘CashConnect’ ATM network via Wincor Nixdorf’s local partner ITS, a subsidiary of Australia’s Armaguard. Banktech’s wholly owned subsidiary, EFTEX, will drive and process the ATM’s with deployment commencing in October.
According to David Glen, Managing Director, Banktech, Wincor Nixdorf was chosen because of its strong customer focus and its innovative solutions.
“We are pleased to be working with Wincor Nixdorf. They understand that helping Banktech grow its business will also grow their business in Australia. This long term view is reflected in the high quality of their products and their significant ongoing investment in R&D. We are confident they are excellent global partners.”
Ricardos Khoury, Wincor Nixdorf’s Asia Pacific regional vice president and head of banking said the innovative solutions generated by the Germany-based company and its partners are reshaping and rejuvenating the self-service industry in Australia.
“Wincor Nixdorf and Banktech are innovative, flexible and focused on adding value to their end customers,” said Ricardos Khoury.
“And this partnership will translate not only into strategic ATM deployments in non-bank outlets such as hotels in Australia, but to tactical customer engagements in markets across Asia Pacific. The project with Banktech is only the start of a promising business relationship,” said Ricardos Khoury.
The ATMs will run on an open architecture software platform allowing multivendor implementation that creates seamless integration with an existing infrastructure, thereby protecting customers’ original investments.
Protecting ATMs from unauthorized access and manipulation is a critical component in any ATM networks security arsenal. That’s why the 100 units will be protected by Wincor Nixdorf’s latest IT security solution to safeguard consumers’ transaction data.
“As a relatively new entrant in this advanced ATM market, Wincor Nixdorf will adopt a different approach to Australia. What we bring to the table is additional value to our customers in order to excite them and create fresh business ideas together. With this, Wincor Nixdorf and our partner will create a new benchmark for the ATM industry”, said David Yip, Australia business development manager for Wincor Nixdorf.
Wincor Nixdorf is the first ATM manufacturer to be officially accredited by the Australian Payments Clearing Association (APCA).
