Consumers use self-service systems because of their user-friendliness, availability and because they permit them to assume responsibility and control the processes on the system themselves. Acceptance for self-service systems and their usage rates are continually increasing in all branches of industry and also in the public sector. The advantages of the technologies are not just on the user side. Process improvements also enable companies to reduce their costs and raise productivity among their staff.

Paying in takings on the self-service system; companies in various sectors (e.g. mass transit, transport logistics, etc.) have to spend considerable time collecting and counting their employees’ cash takings at the end of the day. The example of a transport company is used to show how easily, securely and efficiently daily takings can be deposited on a self-service system.
