Self-Checkout Processes
Mobile shopping process
The PSA /go, Personal Shopping Assistant, is a powerful portable computer in a holder on the shopping cart: This PSA /go accompanies customers in the store as a scout and a personal advisor, providing all conceivable information on the range, individual articles and terms.
Customers can also draw up their shopping list at home on the PC or their mobile phone. They then send it to their retailer over the Internet. Later, when they shop at the store, they have this list on their PSA /go.
Customers identify themselves at the check-in point with their customer card and are provided with a PSA /go for their shopping. The mobile shopping system knows what articles they bought the last time they went shopping. As customers make their way through the store, the PSA /go draws their attention to articles on the list, says what articles are particularly cheap on that day, presents campaigns and, upon request, shows them where to find specific goods. Customers scan their articles using the PSA /go. It provides them with an overview of all the products they have purchased with their value and quantity. The checkout process is especially quick: the PSA /go transfers the data on what a customer has purchased to the POS system or a self-payment terminal, a receipt is printed and the customer pays.
